Douglas Niles, one of the best known TSR game designers that worked for the almost legendary company from 1982 to 1990, will come to Italy as a special guest of the Lucca Comics & Games convention (October 31, November 4). Mr. Niles was, among the other things, part of the original Dragonlance creative group (he wrote DL2 Dragons of Flame, DL6 Dragons of Ice, DL9 Dragons of Deceit, and DL11 Dragons of Glory), some Classic D&D adventures ( X3 Curse of Xanathon, B5 Horror on the Hill, CM1 Test of the Warlords), the famous H1 Boodstone Pass adventure for AD&D first edition. He is a (war/board)game designer too, creating WWII European Theatre of Operations, two boardgames based on Tom Clancy's novels (A Line in the Sand and Red Storm Rising) and a prolific writer having written the very first Forgotten Realms novel (Darkwalker on Moonshae), many Dragonlance novels and after leaving TSR fantasy, science fiction (alternate history) and military themed books.
