On March, 4 2008 Gary Gygax, Father of Role Playing, cofounder of TSR (Hobbies), co creator of Dungeons & Dragons and co creator of Advanced Dungeons & Dragons, passed away. Gary Gygax was not 'just' the designer, along David Arneson, of an entirely new way of playing of immense success but Dungeons & Dragons' popularity was instrumental in launching the videogame industry, giving a new lease of life to fantasy novels and charting countless new realms of imagination. Albeit his later efforts (Dangerous Journeys, Lejendary Journeys) were not very successful, he kept designing games to the very end. We still mourn his passing.
