The United Kingdom is perhaps the first country whegere RPGs and hobby games took root besides, of course, the United States (and Canada) for many cultural and of course linguistical reasons. Games Workshop was seminal in introducing and popularizing these new games in Britain and it did not take too much time for BBC (the state broadcaster of the UK) to notice this new vague of entertainment. From its archives the corporation has posted three vintage videos: the first one (1980) shows a D&D session in the historical GW first store run by Albie Fiore with Steve Jackson; the second one (1982) deals with 'tabletop games' in general and it has many images from Games Day 1982 (GW's first event) and an interview with Gary Gygax; the third video (1984) deals again with D&D and interviews (too) Ian Livingstone. Fascinating fragments from the past!
